The Society of Local Council Clerks is the professional body for Local Council Clerks. Its membership is steadily growing and it currently represents Clerks in over 4,500 Councils across England and Wales.
Many Councils understand the benefits of having a Clerk who is properly trained and fully briefed on the issues of the day, and who can get fast, accurate advice to help them tackle any problems they might face. In fact, over 90% of members' Councils willingly pay for their Clerks' subscriptions to the Society as encouraged by the Local Government Act.
The Society of Local Council Clerks is developing quickly, and is increasingly regarded as the main authoritative body that represents and promotes 'best practice' in the sector.
Membership is open to all full time, part time and deputy Clerks of town, parish and community Councils and parish meetings in England and Wales.
As principal sponsors of the SLCC, Came and Company Local Council Insurance, are pleased to offer a bursary for Town, Parish and Community Councils Clerks and Officers.
